Opening A Prison Library

I just received a copy of the prison magazine for HMP Gartree - I opened their new library last year - and there's a nice article about me. I do a fair number of prison visits, ever since I wrote Hard Landing, the first Spider Shepherd book where he goes undercover in a high security prison. A large part of the success of that book was because I was allowed the run of Belmarsh Prison in South London for research purposes. I was greatly helped by one of the governors there, Ian West, and he's now based at Gartree. He asked me to open the library and I was more than happy to. They had a good group of guys in to hear me talk, and as always with a prison visit the question and answer session was quite vigorous!
