I´ve gobbled Private dancer, Confessions and Solitary man. Having spent 8 consecutive months in the country, it´s always a pleasure to read novels which take place on somewhat familiar surroundings.

About the upcoming (and I really anticipate the following chapters) BKK-Bob novel: It´s an ambitious goal not to involve the naughty nightlife into the novel but I´m of the opinion you should really stick to that decision. It leaves you more pages to fill with other interesting aspects of Thai way of life. It will certainly stand out from other Bkk-based novels, i.e. Moore and co. My humble and late Christmas wish would be that try to involve visits to "normal" (i.e. not the places mentioned in tourist brochures) discos which cater primarily to Thai customers. With all their endless rows of whiskey bottles and on-stage-shows, they have their own interesting subtleties and peculiarities that westerners would certainly like to read about. However, The first three chapters are addictive...

It´s snowy and minus -15 degrees in Finland, so have a ball during the buddhist year 2552 in the big mango!

Temstrong,
FinlandAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7201035340379387456.post-74370681237178330642008-12-30T03:00:00.000-08:002008-12-30T03:00:00.000-08:00Hi Stephen, Thanks for the info on El Ilf...Hi Stephen,
Thanks for the info on El Ilfitrado. As I've already read "Soft Target" I wont be bothering with that one ! Allthough my spanish is reasonably good ( I lived there for eight years)I always think something gets lost along the way in the translated version. Perhaps it's just me, as I can't imagine "Spider as a spaniard !!Best wishes , JanetAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7201035340379387456.post-27630908164645988322008-12-29T20:10:00.000-08:002008-12-29T20:10:00.000-08:00Thanks, Carl. It has caused some confusion being listed on Amazon.co.uk as some readers assume it's a new book. It's not clear from the description that it's a Spanish translation. A Spanish publisher has bought several of the Dan Shepherd books but El Infiltrado is the only one listed on Amazon's UK site!Stephen Leatherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08179238880325952527noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7201035340379387456.post-8464342985684811032008-12-29T04:56:00.000-08:002008-12-29T04:56:00.000-08:00Hi Stephen, Hope you had a go0d Christmas, from wh...Hi Stephen,
Hope you had a go0d Christmas, from what I've read it sounds like you had a great time playing with your daughter's presents !!
I was browsing through the amazon site the other day trying to find out when your new book will be available, when I came across the book "El Infiltrado"I dont ever recall reading anything about this one, can you give me a clue as to the contents ?
